Hunan Broadcasting System (HBS) (simplified Chinese: 湖南广播电视台; traditional Chinese: 湖南廣播電視台; pinyin: Húnán Guǎngbò Diànshìtái) formerly known as Golden Eagle Broadcasting System (GBS), is China's second biggest state-owned television network after China Central Television (CCTV).
Owned by Hunan Broadcasting System, Hunan TV's signal covers most of China, including Macau, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. It is also broadcast overseas as Hunan STV World in Japan, India, Nepal, South Korea, Southeast Asia, Tajikistan, Papua New Guinea, New Zealand, Fiji, Australia, and parts of Africa, the Americas, and Europe.
湖南广播电视台(Hunan Broadcasting System)是湖南省委直属正厅级传媒事业单位,由前湖南广播影视集团(Golden Eagle Broadcasting System)改制而成,于2010年6月28日成立。1949年11月,湖南人民广播电台开始播音。1960年10月,湖南电视台开播,呼号“长沙电视台”。

Since 1994, it has been home to Hunan Broadcasting System, the country's second-biggest broadcaster, which reported revenue of 18.3 billion yuan ($2.63 billion) last year, and total assets of nearly 30 billion yuan. HBS, second only to State-run giant China Central Television, launched its local television station-Hunan TV-on Jan 1, 1970.
