Eleventh grade (also known as 11th Grade, Grade 11 or Junior year) is the eleventh year of formal or compulsory education. It is typically the third year of high school (and is the final year in some countries). Students in eleventh grade are usually 16–17 years of age.
The 11th-grade curriculum focuses on critical thinking, effective communication, and technology applications (software), as well as reinforces core concepts found in English, math (Algebra I & II), science, and social studies.
The Mathematics 3 course, often taught in the 11th grade, covers Polynomials; Logarithms; Transformations of functions; an extension of the worlds of Equations and Modeling; Trigonometric functions; Rational functions; and an extension of the world of Statistics and Probability.

Eleventh grade is the eleventh, and for some countries final, grade of secondary schools. Students are from 15 to 17 years of age, depending on the country. In the United States, many students take the SAT Reasoning Test and/or ACT in the second half of their 11th-grade year.
Most students will take Algebra 2, Trigonometry, or Pre-Calculus for math, Biology, Chemistry, or Physics for science, and United Stated History as their social science. In October, all 11th graders should take the PSAT/NMSQT ®.
