The Three from the Filling Station is a 1930 German musical film directed by Wilhelm Thiele and starring Lilian Harvey, Willy Fritsch, Heinz Rühmann, and Oskar Karlweis. Produced by Erich Pommer, the film was a major success for the UFA studio, outgrossing even The Blue Angel.
This was the most popular film on release in Germany in 1930, even more so than The Blue Angel, and I can completely understand why. Yes, that film has Marlene Dietrich being erotic, but this has three lads taking over a fuel station after they go bankrupt and generally bickering while singing jolly songs, so I know where my money would have gone.
