Last of the Wolves (Japanese: 孤狼の血 LEVEL2, Hepburn: Korō no Chi Level 2) is a 2021 Japanese crime yakuza thriller film directed by Kazuya Shiraishi, starring Tori Matsuzaka and Ryohei Suzuki. It is a sequel to the 2018 film The Blood of Wolves.
Three years on, The Blood of Wolves (JFF 2018) saga continues with the ferocious and hyperbolic Last of the Wolves. After police detective Shōgo Ōgami’s death in Hiroshima, his protégé, detective Shūichi Hioka (Tōri Matsuzaka), is left with the responsibility of keeping the yakuza gangs in check.

Oct 13, 2021 · While Last Of The Wolves does not reach the heights of the masterpieces of the genre, Kazuya Shiraishi delivers, with his sequel, another amazing and highly entertaining yakuza/police thriller – quite possible the best thriller of this year.
“Last of the Wolves” is screening at New York Asian Film Festival Three years after the events of the previous film, Hioka is not a rookie anymore, and has actually implemented his mentor’s (Shogo Ogami) plan about keeping the peace between Odani-gumi and the Irako-kai to the fullest, making a lot of money in the process.
