Something of Value is a 1957 American drama film directed by Richard Brooks and starring Rock Hudson, Dana Wynter, and Sidney Poitier. The film was reissued under the title Africa Ablaze. The film, based on the book of the same name by Robert Ruark, portrays the Mau Mau uprising in Kenya.
There's a minor character in Something of Value, a wealthy tourist on safari in Kenya during the 1950s Mau Mau rebellion, who goes up north of Nairobi to Lake Naivasha to go duck hunting, and upon arriving in the lake town sees white landowner execute a native Kikuyu servant on suspicion of being a Mau Mau terrorist.
