Mr Pim Passes By is a three act comedy by A. A. Milne, first produced in 1919, and seen in the West End in 1920 and on Broadway and in Australia in 1921. There were later stage revivals in London and New York, and the play has been adapted for radio, television and cinema.
Mr. Pim Passes By Act I The morning-room at Marden House (Buckinghamshire) decided more than a hundred years ago that it was all right, and has not bothered about itself since.
When Mr Pim calls in to Marden house to see George, he tells a story about a man who he met on the boat coming over from Australia; the man sounds suspiciously like Olivia's first husband who she believed to be dead, throwing George into a moral quandary.

As Mr Pim returns at intervals to amend his account – his memory being rather sieve-like – George and Olivia face a revealing crisis point in their relationship.
