The Great Indian Kitchen is a 2021 Indian Malayalam-language drama film written and directed by Jeo Baby. The film tells the story of a newly-wed woman (Nimisha Sajayan) who struggles to be the submissive wife that her husband (Suraj Venjaramood) and his family expect her to be.
Like any Indian girl, the bride of the 'The Great Indian Kitchen' moves into her husband's house prepared to adapt to their customs and make it her home. Her husband and his parents do love and care for her. But problems arise when her kind mother-in-law has to be away. She struggles to cope with the mountain of seemingly endless household chores, differences in opinion and unfamiliar traditions.
