In 1934, the school became Chapman College after the chairman of its board of trustees (and primary benefactor), C. C. Chapman. In 1954, Chapman University permanently relocated to its present campus in the city of Orange, the former site of Orange High School.

Sep 14, 2020 · For the second consecutive year, Chapman University is listed among the nation’s top universities in U.S. News & World Report’s newest rankings, released Monday, Sept. 14. The annual U.S. News report listed Chapman at No. 124 in its National Universities category, up from No. 125 in last year’s ranking.
