AFAIK, there are three versions of the pilot: a shorter one that was aired the first time; a middle length version (which I think is referred to as the director’s cut) that is what’s on the DVD, Netflix, and what is most often seen; and a longer, 55-minute version that aired at least once but I’ve never seen it online.

Glee: The Pilot is the Director's Cut of the Pilot episode. It was released on DVD in the US on September 1, 2009 as a Wal-Mart exclusive. It was also released in Australia as a Limited Edition.
Synopsis. The start of the school day finds the Cheerios cheer squad relentlessly drilling through their practice, led by their merciless coach Sue Sylvester ( Jane Lynch ). Meanwhile, the football team surrounds the stylishly weary Kurt ( Chris Colfer ).
