Obaltan (Korean: 오발탄, also known as Aimless Bullet and Stray Bullet) is a 1961 South Korean tragedy film directed by Yu Hyun-mok. The plot is based on the novella of the same name by Yi Beomseon. It has often been called the best Korean movie ever made.

The Aimless Bullet (Obaltan) is a Korean classic, which captured the social issues at its extremities in Korea of the late 1950s. Song Chul-ho (Jin Kyu Kim), a clerk at an accounting office in Seoul, attempts to support his mentally ill mother, his pregnant wife, his lonely sister, his two children, and Young-ho, his aimless younger brother.
Obaltan is an interesting place where it looks to be a drinking/post-dinner place yet they have great dishes to substitute for dinner. The theatrics behind the clam grilling is a gem as the broth and food will warm up your soul (and belly). The hidden gem at this place is the tteobokki.
