Angst (English: "Fear") is a 1983 Austrian horror film directed by Gerald Kargl, who co-wrote the screenplay with cinematographer and editor Zbigniew Rybczyński. It follows a psychopath recently released from prison and is loosely based on real-life mass murderer Werner Kniesek.

If ever there was a film which truly had ice-water for blood, it is 'Angst'. Built out of fear, panic and sheer terror, it is night-snow-blue and broken granite, the orange flame of matches lit. 'Angst' is continually in a state of heightened restless anxiety.
