Where We Disappear. A story of strength and survival in the wake of WWII, the film focuses on the plight of a young mother as she begins a 12-year sentence in a Siberian prison camp for the murder of her husband.
A young mother, Anastasia waits in a Moscow train station for the return of her husband from WWII. With hope to free herself and her son from his abuse, she tries to leave him. When he gives her no way out, she stabs him to protect herself her son. For her crime, Anastasia is deported to the Gulag prison camp.
The story of women in a Soviet Gulag. The balance of power shifts back and forth. Who is the leader and why ? The misery of the gulag is tremendous, the abuse is constant. The ending could very easily be interpreted in several ways and your interpretation will tell much about yourself.
