The Poisoning Angel. Raised by a strict mother, Helène Jégado thinks she is the incarnation of the Ankou, a supernatural being and the most feared worker of death in Brittany at the beginning of the 19th century. Her mission is to kill all those who stand in her way.

The Poisoning Angel. Set in 9th century rural Brittany, an impoverished peasant girl's life takes a disturbing turn for the violence. Convinced she must serve Ankou, the spirit of death in local mythology, Helene poisons and murders her mother. For the rest of her life, she travels throughout Brittany searching for her next victim.
