Enric R. Madriguera (17 February 1902 – 7 September 1973) was a violinist of Catalan origin who was playing concerts as a child before he studied at the Barcelona Conservatory (the Castilian form of his name is Enrique, which he sometimes used on records).
Dr. Enric Madriguera was a master of the classical guitar and a renowned performer and teacher. He died in 2024 at the age of 74, after a long and distinguished career in music education and performance.

Apr 29, 2024 · Enric Madriguera, UTD’s Director of Guitar Studies and first Russell Cleveland Professor in Guitar Studies died April 14. Madriguera was one of the most accomplished guitarists in UTD’s history and a pillar of the Dallas guitar community.
Madriguera is a co-founder and artistic director for the Texas Guitar Competition and Festival, and the Guitar Series at UT Dallas. He is also the director of The Collegiate Competition and Festival at Eastfield College, which focuses on high school and undergraduate students.
