Albert Johnson (November 2, 1974 – June 20, 2017), better known by his stage name Prodigy, was an American rapper and record producer. With Havoc, he was one half of the hip hop duo Mobb Deep. Together, they recorded and released eight studio albums. Prodigy also released five solo studio albums.
The rapper, who battled sickle cell anaemia, was on tour in Las Vegas when he choked on an egg in 2017. He was known for his influential East Coast gangsta rap with Mobb Deep and his solo career.
