Jonas Kaufmann (born July 10, 1969) is a German-Austrian tenor opera singer. He is best known for the versatility of his repertoire, performing a variety of opera roles in multiple languages in recital [1] [2] and concert each season.

In the early years of his career, Jonas Kaufmann had strong ties with the Zurich Opera. In 2003, he made his debut at the Salzburg Festival in the title role of Tamino. His performance as Alfredo in La Traviata at the Metropolitan Opera in New York in 2006 catapulted him into the international limelight.
