Girish Chandra Murmu (born 21 November 1959) is the 14th Comptroller and Auditor General of India and the external auditor of the Inter-Parliamentary Union. He is also the chairman of the United Nations Panel of External Auditors and the Asian Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions.
Murmu, who comes from Mayurbhanj district of Odisha and is the oldest among eight brothers and sisters, has been credited with presenting Gujarat’s case in an effective manner in courts following the 2002 riots.
