Students will need 1. For all lessons: a pen, pencil, ruler, rubber, pencil sharpener and some colouring pencils 2. For maths: a calculator (this can be purchased through school via School Gateway), a pair of compasses and a protractor. Anything specialised will be supplied in lesson. 3. For PE: School PE kit

The school was converted into the mixed sex Marple Hall County High School in September 1974 with a nine form entry. The joint headmaster, Derek J Saville, was appointed in September 1973. It was originally to be called Marple Hall County Comprehensive.
