Alexander James Moore Academy (more commonly referred to as A.J. Moore Academy) was a magnet high school in the Waco ISD district in Waco, TX. A.J. Moore was designed to prepare students for success in post secondary education and in the workplace.
In 1997, A. J. Moore Academy was reborn in Waco as a magnet school. Proponents of this school hoped to carry on the traditions begun by Professor Moore in the nineteenth century, encouraging students to remain united.
A.J. Moore Academies have been selected by the Governor of Texas and the Texas Education Agency as a Texas Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math Academy. The National Academy Foundation designated A.J. Moore as one of five Distinguished Academies in the United States.
