Treasure Island is an adventure novel written by Robert Louis Stevenson, first published as a complete work in 1883. The story is set in the 18th century and follows the young protagonist Jim Hawkins as he embarks on a perilous journey in search of buried treasure.
The protagonist of Treasure Island, Jim Hawkins, has been asked by his acquaintances Doctor Livesey and Squire Trelawney to write down his recollections. He begins by discussing the “Admiral Benbow” inn that his family owned when he was a boy, not far from the English port of Bristol.
