The Most Reverend Earl K. Fernandes was ordained and installed as the 13th Bishop of the Diocese of Columbus on May 31, 2022. He was serving as pastor of St. Ignatius of Loyola Church in Cincinnati, Ohio from 2019 until his ordination and installation.

A native Ohioan and son of immigrants, Bishop-Elect Fernandes’ experience as a parish pastor and a leader at two Ohio seminaries will position him for success in leading Central Ohio Catholics.
A native of Elmira, New York, Bishop Campbell earned a bachelor’s degree in history and foreign language from Saint Lawrence University, Canton, New York, and obtained his master’s degree and doctorate in history from The Ohio State University.
