Brian Domonic Muir (January 20, 1962—September 19, 2010) was a writer and actor, known for Critters (1986), High Risk (1995) and The New Legend of Shaolin (1994). He died on September 19, 2010 in Norwalk Community Hospital, Norwalk, California, USA.

The original script was a hard “R” and strictly horror. Muir was only 19 when he wrote that script. According to director Stephen Herek, the co-screenwriter Domonic Muir wrote the script for Critters long before Gremlins went into production. It just took the success of Gremlins for New Line Cinema to give Critters the green-light.

But Critters, a tongue-in-cheek horror comedy also directed by a protégé of exploitation maestro Roger Corman, shares the same elevator pitch.
