Thomas W. Flynn (August 18, 1955 – August 23, 2021) was an American author, journalist, novelist, executive director of the Council for Secular Humanism, and editor of its journal Free Inquiry. He was also director of the Robert Green Ingersoll Birthplace Museum and the Freethought Trail.
Tom Flynn was the caretaker and director of the Robert Green Ingersoll Birthplace Museum in Dresden, New York, from 1993 until his sudden death in August 2021. He also was the editor of Free Inquiry, the executive director of the Council for Secular Humanism, and the director of the Freethought Trail.

Tom Flynn, former executive director of the Council for Secular Humanism and editor of Free Inquiry magazine, has died. He was 66. Flynn’s death was announced Monday (Aug. 23) by the Center for Inquiry, a nonprofit that strives to “foster a secular society based on reason, science, freedom of inquiry, and humanist values.”
