Judith Josephine Grossman (January 21, 1923 – September 12, 1997), who took the pen-name Judith Merril around 1945, was an American and then Canadian science fiction writer, editor and political activist, and one of the first women to be widely influential in those roles.

Judith Merril (1923-1997) was a prolific and influential sf writer, critic and anthologist, who moved to Canada in 1968. She wrote novels, novellas and short stories, and edited the influential Year's Greatest/Best SF series, advocating for speculative fiction and the New Wave.
