Famous poet / 1833-1904. Jovan Jovanovic Zmaj was born in the city of Novi Sad, on 24th Novemeber 1833. He went to school in Bratislava and the studied in Budapest, Prague and Vienna. He returned to Novi Sad in 1870 as a medical doctor. His wife and children succumbed to tuberculosis.
