Nice hiking close by. Shell Ridge Open Space from the north entrance on Castle Rock Rd provides short to long hikes with short climbs moderately steep. You may meet horse riders and bike riders on some of the trails. On Shell Ridge itself you have some good views of the area including Walnut Creek.
