    is the nineteenth episode of the seventh season of The Golden Girls and the one-hundred and seventy-fourth episode overall. Directed by Lex Passaris and written by Kevin Abbott, it premiered on NBC-TV on February 29th, 1992. It is the first part of the two-part A Midwinter Night's Dream special.

    Blanche throws a men-only Moonlight Madness party to celebrate a full moon on Leap Day, and is devastated when Dorothy gets all the attention. She is further upset when she does meet a man, but he steals her valuable necklace. Sophia works to undo a curse put on Dorothy by helping a holy man, kissing a fool, and revealing a loved-one's betrayal.

    •This was originally an hour-long episode split into two parts for syndication. •This episode was the first part of a two-hour crossover event with Empty Nest and Nurses, with the connecting thread being that a full moon on February 29th causing strange behavior in people. •The champagne bottles seen in this episode are a distinctive brand seen in a variety of television shows throughout the late 80s through today. The producer of the champagne is Perrier-Jouet and this particular brand is now known as Belle Epoque -- formerly named Fleure de Champagne, hence the unique floral design. The design seen in this episode is the same one used in 2020, with only slight differences. A single bottle, depending on the type, can cost anywhere from $28 to $1600.
