In accordance to regulators’ or major buyers’ requirements, there are three classifications of listing in the PLS: Class 1A (ISO Certification Type 5) – With Factory and Product Surveillance. Products listed under Class 1A in the PLS are entitled to be labelled with “PSB Listed” Labels.
Product control, such as type testing, batch testing, factory audit, market and factory surveillance, labelling, listing and publishing of listing directories would be carried out by TÜV SÜD under the PSB Product Listing Scheme.
TÜV SÜD PSB is accredited under the Singapore Accreditation Council Singapore Laboratory Accreditation (SAC-Singlas) Scheme to ISO/IEC Guide 25 (ISO/IEC 17025) and ISO Guide 65 (ISO/IEC 17065), and is also accredited by SAC for ISO/IEC 17021-1.
Regulated fire safety products under the Product Listing Scheme (PLS) are regulated by Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF). These products are certified by Certification Bodies (CBs) who are accredited by the Singapore Accreditation Council (SAC).
The Consumer Protection (Safety Requirements) Regulations (CPSR) requires 33 categories of household electrical, electronic and gas appliances & accessories also known as Controlled Goods, to be tested to specified safety standards and affixed with the SAFETY Mark before they can be sold in Singapore.
