MINDS offers special education for children aged 7 to 18 with various needs and abilities. It has four schools with different programmes, but none of them is Lee Kong Chian Gardens School.
Lee Kong Chian Gardens School is Singapore’s first permanent school for intellectually-disabled children. The school was officially opened on 29 November 1969 by then Patron for the Singapore Association for Retarded Children (SARC) and First Lady, Puan Noor Aishah, to provide employment training for intellectually-disabled children.
LGS is a full-facility school for intellectually disabled pupils aged 7 to 18, offering a broad-spectrum curriculum and co-curricular activities. It is one of the special education schools under MINDS, a charity organization in Singapore.
