Perugia (/ p ə ˈ r uː dʒ ə /, US also /-dʒ i ə, p eɪ ˈ-/, Italian: [peˈruːdʒa] ⓘ; Latin: Perusia) is the capital city of Umbria in central Italy, crossed by the River Tiber. The city is located about 164 km (102 mi) north of Rome and 148 km (92 mi) southeast of Florence .
- Palazzo dei Priori. For centuries, a grand palace has stood right in the center of the city’s Piazza IV Novembre. This ornate Gothic-style building called Palazzo dei Priori was built in the 1300s and was previously the seat of the Municipality of Perugia.
- Perugia Cathedral. On the same main square as the palace, with the large medieval Fontana Maggiore in the middle, you’ll also find the Cathedral of San Lorenzo.
