Jan 1, 2014 · Snails certainly don't walk. I wouldn't say they glide, exactly, either. Those in my garden sort of creep. Snails actually have one foot that sort of extends itself a little and then pulls the rest forward, thus moving along—very, very slowly. They can do this vertically as well as horizontally and can thus climb walls and fences. Cross-posted.
Jan 3, 2006 · Well, the pop culture is like a dachshund in its relentless quest for goodies that go or grow underground. So the connection from "backdoor man" to "booty call" is there to be made-- "midnight creep" of course is not that specific in its reference. You could make a midnight creep for "booty" in the more time-honored sense of the word, after all.
Mar 25, 2015 · I have always believed that, referring to babies' locomotion only, to creep meant to propel oneself along the floor in some manner. To crawl meant to travel on hands and knees in a specific way. Many babies learn to creep, perhaps scooting along using their elbows and one leg, then to crawl, before they learn to walk. Some learn to walk first.
