  2. A faded television actor and his stunt double strive to achieve fame and success in the film industry during the final years of Hollywood's Golden Age in 1969 Los Angeles. Director: Quentin Tarantino. Writers: screenplay by Quentin Tarantino. Cast: Leonardo DiCaprio as Rick Dalton.

  3. In some ways Once Upon A Time In Hollywood is really about Tarantino wishing that blissful late 60s time continued, and all the stars and movies of that era kept being made. I get the feeling he doesn't much like the cinema of Scorsese, Coppola, Hopper, Friedkin and the rest of the New Hollywood crew.

  4. The Once Upon A Time In Hollywood Subreddit, dedicated to watching, talking about and then rewatching The 9th Film by Quentin Tarantino starring Margot Robbie, Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt. A fan since the days of Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction it was dumb luck that I found myself working for half a decade at the Musso & Frank’s, the restaurant that opens the film; including prior to and ...

  5. once upon a time in hollywood is a steaming pile of absolute dogshit. I've never seen such a boring, pointless, self-important movie in my life. There is no drama, no story, no tension, nothing. Nothing. It's terrible. Feel validated people out there who also dislike this shit movie, when critics try to gaslight us with "positive reviews."

  6. Apr 17, 2020 · ADMIN MOD. “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” is a boring, turgid piece of shit. 1/ It feels like 20% of the movie is shots of cars pulling up. 2/ It ambling and aimless, without any of those wonderfully comically mundane Tarantino moments. 3/ The last 20 minutes are just dumb and gratuitous 4/ Foot fetish stuff has passed meta and is now just ...

  7. Dec 11, 2019 · I don’t think there’s a message but it’s just a telling of the end of “The Golden Age” in Hollywood and the beginning of film in the 70’s. The tension is between the older generation (Cliff/Rick) with the newer generation (Hippies and the Manson family). A lot of people consider the Manson murders the death of the hippies but in ...

  8. Jun 29, 2021 · Update, re: condition of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood paperback. My mom returned my copy of the book a few days ago, and I gave it a read in the meantime. I'm happy to report that, aside from the normal wear and tear (I confess: I dog-ear) the book is in fine condition. Maybe, unfortunately, you got the paperback version of an automotive lemon.

  9. Dec 4, 2023 · I get that they follow a similar vein but I don't think of Once Upon a Time's ending as being upbeat or as on-the-nose vengeful as the other two. Sure the final setpiece is very fun and cathartic, but the serene, melancholic final shot of the movie watching the real life victims go about their night made me feel like the ending was supposed to be a fourth-wall-breaking tragedy.

  10. Almost every aspect of Bruce Lee from that specific point in time (Green Hornet era) was inaccurate - hair style, fighting style, even his attitude. Bruce was arrogant but he was also fully aware of the cultural climate around Hollywood at the time and it's hard to believe he would blatantly antagonize so many people and risk losing his job.
