    • Heublein Tower. In the 1910s the beverage magnate Gilbert F. Heublein built himself a summer retreat in the shape of a Bavarian castle. Posted atop Talcott Mountain on the Metacomet Ridge at a height of 950 feet, the Heublein Tower cuts a familiar shape on the horizon west of Hartford.
