Let's take picture files, for example. The most popular picture formats, including .jpeg and .png, are already compressed, so compressing them further won't get you very far.
May 21, 2017 · In the Photos app on Windows 10, there does not seem be an obvious way to save photos with a lower resolution. All the responses to this I have seen on the help forums either tell people to use another app (Paint), or reference pull down menus that don't exist (ie. some say chose edit, and compress is a choice, but it is not there.).

May 8, 2013 · What are you talking about, there IS a file resize function available in Photo Gallery... To resize files for uploading, simply select them, in the Edit view. In the Properties section of the Edit ribbon, there is a file resize function. Choose your new size, and the files will be resized in a batch and saved as new versions.
Jul 17, 2024 · Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this. To reduce the size of an image file basically means you need to remove pixels from the image, either by reducing the dimensions of the image or reducing the resolution of the image file, both will reduce the clarity of the file.
