Discover our story. 5 years after Apollo 11 landed humans on the moon, in 1974, The Banana Leaf Apolo was born. For Mr Chellappan, the unassuming founder of the restaurant, the spaceflight saga had been awe-inspiring human achievement that he christened the restaurant “The Banana Leaf Apolo.” He had hoped that his humble venture would take-off like the rocket that propelled Apollo 11 mission!

Inspired by Andrew Zimmern 's "Bizarre Foods" episode where he visited Banana Lead Apollo (BLA) and had the so-called "famous Fish Head Curry" and raved about how flavorful it was, I found myself nearby at the Temple and opted to trek a few blocks further into Little India to this establishment to whet my appetite.
