Mar 4, 2010 · New Member. Just to share my experience.. I choose my kids' chinese names, and asked my fortune teller to check which chinese characters will fit best for them. He took into into consideration the date/time of their birth, meaning of the words, the number of strokes, etc.

He will explain to you why he says name no. 1 is best for your kid, why name 2 is second best and so on. According to my SIL who went to You Long Zi, he doesn't do that, he just provide a list of characters for you to mix and match.

Traditionally, Chinese place great importance on their Ba Zi (time & DOB) of birth because it can affect the individual’s destiny. I did some research on where you can go to to get your child’s name “counted” in Chinese in Singapore and thought I’ll share it with you guys here.
