Sep 16, 2024 · Aston Villa striker Gary Shaw, a member of their European Cup winning side of 1982 has died at the of 63 of injuries sustained following a fall. One of those footballers I always think of as being permanently young, he was an unlucky player who was a fine, instinctive striker who looked destined for the top until he sustained the injury which meant that his early potential was never fulfilled.
