Woolton is a very old centre of settlement in the north west. Situated in the southern part of the Liverpool today, historically it consisted of two distinct areas – Much Woolton and Little Woolton. The entrance to the village of Woolton itself would generally have been via Out Lane, past the Woolton village cross and into the town gardens.

But look a little more carefully and there is lots to see. The village retains a quaint, self-contained character and is a designated conservation area.
