In English, when someone says something vulgar or crude, you might reply "Charming", but mean it sarcastically (i.e. that isn't charming; it's offensive). Is there a Spanish equivalent? Would you just say encantador, but sarcastically? Any suggestions gladly appreciated! K.

It seems the two are really the same. "Glamorous" does have that meaning, hly2004. For me, "glamorous" means superficially attractive, while charming means intrinsically attractive.

  3. Apr 29, 2011 · Senior Member. England, English. Apr 29, 2011. #2. Yes, I think Charming should be capitalized. It stands as a name, not simply an adjective. Of course, Prince should be capitalized if it is part of a name, as in "Prince William" (but not in "William is a prince").

Princess is the female form of Prince, and people would know what you mean, but the image of a 'Princess Charming' that somehow comes and rescues a man is not common. Traditionally, a man hoped to find 'the right woman/wife' who is strong, takes care of him, and helps him be a success.
