Singapore is not supposed to be on the same par as countries like India, Philippines or Indonesia. So stop telling people who are 'unappreciative' to remember that 'Singapore is great compared to those third-world countries'.

It is known that even among the Bamar, a significant proportion if not a majority of them hold extremely longstanding prejudiced views against the Rohingya, which is why the Rohingya have been among the most persecuted ethnic group for the past half century.

Memories are fuzzy, but I recall some occasions when he would ask me to stay put, then step out to have a conversation in the corridor with nobody - telling them to leave me alone etc. I remember this strongly because he would speak in polite/traditional Hokkien, rather than his usual knnccb lanjiao style.
