  1. Jan 9, 2011 · Except that Hostel is a horror movie where the torturer is unambiguously a Bad Guy tm (from what I've read about it, haven't seen the movie). In Unthinkable, it's not so much about the torture, but more about the moral implications. I think that this makes Unthinkable significantly different from Hostel or just any other torture movie.

  2. Sep 17, 2019 · In "Unthinkable" you will find yourself witness to a psycholgical tug of war between characters trying to decide the fate of tens of thousands of people, with Samuel L Jackson's character (codename 'H', perhaps a nod to Death Note?) playing the role of rope referee, occassionally pulling on the rope, pressuring on one side or the other.

  3. May 31, 2010 · I liked it. Not a whole lot. It goes into the large pile of terrorism-related movies out there. I thought it was pretty inventive, and clearly done a relatively low budget (production-wise).

I know that the movie builds tension using that device, but it is so overdone and poorly executed. I couldn't stand the movie.

  9. Oct 27, 2014 · Picked up Unthinkable in a bargain bin at Wal-Mart without ever having heard of it, which astounds me because it's easily one of Samuel L. Jackson's best performances, and Michael Sheen gives a really intense performance, as well. Just a really solid movie all around.

  10. Jun 24, 2015 · In the end, Unthinkable doesn’t answer the question... but does provide plenty of food for thought". Despite praising its dramatic value, film scholar Matthew Alford argues that "the aesthetic realism and apparent seriousness of Unthinkable is a mask for the absurdity of its content and reactionary politics" making it more than just a "nightmare scenario" but rather "a white paper from ...
