  2. Apr 21, 2018 · Reading documentation online, I'm getting confused how to properly define multiple JavaScript variables on a single line. If I want to condense the following code, what's the proper JavaScript "strict" way to define multiple javascript variables on a single line? var a = 0; var b = 0; Is it: var a = b = 0; or. var a = var b = 0; etc...

  3. @intuited I'm flabbergasted by your answer: you define another problem than the OP's one and you delight to do a long answer to this other problem. He doesn't want to associate strings and values in a dictionary, he wants to create objects with an identifier and a value for each one.

  4. Jun 8, 2011 · In general, you can write a multi-line define using the line-continuation character, \. So e.g. #define MY_MACRO printf( \. "I like %d types of cheese\n", \. 5 \. ) But you cannot do that with your first example. 8. Dec 6, 2016 · I am trying to look for an easy way to define multiple global variables from inside a function or class. The obvious option is to do the following: global a,b,c,d,e,f,g..... a=1 b=2 c=3 d=4 ..... This is a simplified example but essentially I need to define dozens of global variables based on the input of a particular function.

  10. I'm a fan of declaring multiple variables on a single line because I think it looks cleaner. That said, accidentally declaring global variables is a real danger. While hunting down memory leaks I have come across multiple instances where I accidentally declared several global variables at once because I used a semicolon instead of a comma.

  11. Mar 8, 2010 · Bare in mind that, tidiness may come with consequences of performance. The range function call will slow down the init process slightly.
