Education
Jaime went to St Anthony’s Canossian Secondary School before enrolling in Temasek Junior College. After 3 months, she switched to Ngee Ann Polytechnic where she earned a Diploma in Computer Studies. Jaime reportedly changed schools as she did not want to study Mandarin at the time.She then went on to Monash University in 2000 and graduated with a Bachelor of Computing on 4 October 2003.
Miss Universe Singapore
Jaime entered the Miss Singapore Universe pageant at 24 years old. She subsequently won the beauty pageant and was crowned Miss Singapore Universe.Following that, Jaime represented Singapore in Puerto Rico for the 50th Miss Universe. Jaime underwent corrective orthodontic surgery 2 years before signing up for Miss Universe Singapore. This procedure was done partly because she wanted to enter the competition.
Mediacorp contract
Jaime was awarded a Mediacorp contract following her success in Miss Singapore Universe. She signed the contract on 16 March 2001. Under Mediacorp, Jaime hosted and acted in shows like The Mission and Double Happiness.In 2002, she was nominated for the Best Newcomer Award in the Star Awards.
Shortly after signing her Mediacorp contract, Jaime was selected to audition for a place in One Fifth (五分之一), a mandopop girl group.She was successful in her audition and represented Singapore as a member of the group.
Founding
Jaime Teo founded Twelve Cupcakes in 2011 with Daniel Ong. After perfecting the recipe for all the cupcakes to be sold in-store, the couple opened their first brick and mortar store at United Square.When the brand first started, Jaime iced all the cupcakes by hand.
Expansion
Twelve Cupcakes was registered as a company in 2012. Shortly after, Jaime and Daniel opened up stores in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Malaysia. The brand expanded rapidly, opening 11 outlets in 2 years of operation.Their menu also grew to include honey cakes. Jaime and Daniel then engaged in product diversification, opening Dulce and Sucre and Cookies For Sid.
Dhunseri Group
After Jaime and Daniel’s divorce in 2016, Twelve Cupcakes was sold to Dhunseri Group for $2.5 million. Jaime and Daniel remained as consultants for the company for a year before leaving Twelve Cupcakes.Since then, they are no longer involved in the company’s processes.

Jaime and Daniel met on the set of Mr Kiasu back in 2001. They were friends for 3 years before they started dating. Jaime was brought up single-handedly by her mother during her teenage years.Her parents separated when she was a month-old infant.
