- A Family Home for More Than 500 Years. Althorp House, begun in the early Tudor period and then added to and adapted over five centuries, sits in about 500 acres of parkland and gardens, surrounded by an estate of 13,000 acres.
- The Wootton Hall. Visitors enter Althorp through what is known as The Wootton Hall. It's named for the artist John Wootton who painted the country scenes that cover the walls of this room.
- The Picture Gallery. This long, narrow gallery (115 feet by 20 feet) was created by Robert Spencer in the 17th century and is based on an original Elizabethan gallery elsewhere in the house.
- The South Drawing Room. The South Drawing Room is used as a reception room for the Spencer family. It's particularly notable for the family portraits by Sir Joshua Reynolds that line the walls.
