George Schaefer (1888–1981) was a movie producer and president of RKO from 1938-42. In June 1941, Hitchcock was struggling with the ending for Suspicion and Schaefer sent the director a memo with his suggestion for the film's climax: Nothing in the picture is to be changed until the final scene, where he brings her a glass of milk.
