Episode Two is the second episode of the second season of American Crime.
Hours after Anne places a 911 call seeking help for her son, Taylor, she begins the byzantine process of getting authorities to pay attention to the alleged crime. Meanwhile, Leslie works to position The Leyland School ahead of the forming investigation; Terri has an intervention with son Kevin; and Eric’s true self is revealed.
The episode opens with the police at the Blaine apartment after Anne reports Taylor's rape. As the police ask Anne questions, she doesn't have a lot to offer and Taylor is still reluctant to come forward about the assault, but Anne encourages him not to give up. Taylor is later shown undergoing a rape kit.
Meanwhile, Leslie gives a speech at a town meeting discussing the allegations of Taylor's assault where she is shown talking in circles about attention, accountability and "what they don't know."
Later on, Terry (Kevin's mother) gets involved in a road-rage accident on her way to work and she videos the guy on phone. Once she gets to work, she calls Ken at the Indianapolis Police Department to get the guy in trouble. A brief scene shows the relationship between Eric and his father.
Coach Sullivan continues to be protective of his team and when Leslie demands that one of the players on the team should be suspended for one game, Coach Sullivan is concerned concerned that a one-game suspension for one of his guys could affect their reputation. In the end, Eric is chosen to sit out of the game.
Kevin and Eric are shown talking about what happened at the party and it shown that both of them are quite secretive & Kevin even tells Eric, "You just need to chill" and that Taylor running his mouth could get them into trouble.
Taylor's girlfriend, Evy is shown at another school where racial conflict is a daily concern. The principal of the school, Chris Dixon is shown debating the timing of free breakfast for the lower-income students.
