Jul 5, 2022 · Ajahn Brahm prefers to rely exclusively on inspiration and kindness to get people to remember why they are there, never to "do" anything or behave in any sort of way. He just trusts that people will be honest enough with themselves to know the right time to become monks, I guess. Anyway, Ajahn Brahm can explain it infinitely better than I can.

I've been listening to a lot of Ajahn Brahm talks and I'd like to start reading some of his works. Just don't know where to begin.
Jun 24, 2020 · Ajahn Amaro has a more lighthearted teaching style, somewhat similar to Ajahn Brahm. He doesn't make as many jokes, but he uses humourous anecdotes. Much like Ajahn Brahm, he's able to be both playful and serious depending on the situation. I also recommend Ajahn Candasiri. She's really down to earth and relatable, yet incredibly wise and skilful.

They asked Ajahn Brahm to recant the ordinations and he refused. As a result, the Thai establishment removed the affiliation of Ajahn Brahm's monastery in Australia.

Dec 31, 2022 · I find it fascinating that Ajahn Sumedho and Ajahn Brahm are both students of Ajahn Chah, yet their understanding of the Dharma is almost diametrically opposed. Ajahn Brahm's approach seems to largely center around Jhana, bliss, and escape from the 5 senses, whereas Ajahn Sumedho's approach emphasizes awareness and contemplation, without trying to reject or escape from "reality".
