A conundrum is like a puzzle, or a riddle, or a problem ~ which needs to be solved, or is at least solvable. An enigma, however, is more of a mystery or mysterious phenomenon, which may or may not be solvable.
Apr 5, 2010 · Hi, The only thing I have to add is that "conundrum" implies something negative, so maybe there's a more appropriate word, "conundrum" could also mean like "dilemma"....but that's just my small two cents, it's probably not worth much...

It's from a range of problems identifying mistakes that non-native English speakers might make when learning English. e.g. "I'd like some informations about your courses." "Certainly, here's our brochure." Obviously here the mistake is informations.

The singular version is fine if you write it this way: This kind of experience allows... The idea is the same in both versions, but your versions of those phrases need to be changed. cross-posted with Jordy.

Though some fluent English-speakers use phrases like "you and her" for the subjects of sentences, I don't recommend that you follow their example unless you are trying to imitate dialect in your sentence for some reason. Aug 26, 2005 · We say 12:00 a.m. for midnight to be consistent with 12:01 a.m., 12:02 a.m., and so on through 12:59 a.m. It's the same for p.m. People who want to be certain of avoiding confusion will say "12 noon," often abbreviated 12n, or "12 midnight," which can be abbreviated as 12m - or they use a 24-hour clock.

If you are designating a section of the island, then use our rule that we generally use 'in' with a region, even a region of an island.
