Donald Maynard Dokken (born June 29, 1953) is an American musician, best known as the lead singer and founder of glam metal band Dokken. [1] . He is known for his vibrato -laden, melodic vocal style which has made him an influential figure in American heavy metal/glam metal.

Dokken broke up in March 1989, due to creative and personal differences between Don Dokken and George Lynch as well as Don's desire to fire the rest of the band and hire new members before they signed their next record deal.
