(For the record, I’m not saying Max Aarons is a poor defender, but it probably is the only part of the game where you could argue in favour of AWB.) In short, I would much rather have a type like Max Aarons than Wan-Bissaka.

Jun 11, 2019 · If I was Laird and I saw us signing Aarons I’d be looking for a way out while my stock was highish after the loan. Maybe even Norwich would give him a shot. He’s just got to stay fit. I think he could definitely be as good as Aarons but it doesn’t sound like we are going to use him next season...

The stats paint a pretty clear picture, AWB is very good defensively but meh going forward whereas Aarons is way better going forward while being not bad defensively. Who we sign should depend on what type of football we are planning on playing.
